In a world of media overload and sensory distractions, you have to work hard to get people to hear your message. You’ll start with your general audience composition—the “demographics”—and choose the appropriate style and vocabulary for presenting your content. Whatever your medium (print, Web, or broadcast), well-written text gets your ideas across immediately.
You're developing a brochure, booklet, or website for your business. You‘ve written the content. But before putting the piece out to the public, you want to be assured that your word text is consistent in style and meets professional standards...
Your company needs temporary on-site assistance in working with staff or team members to complete a project. In this time-sensitive task, you’d like to find help you can trust in...
A publications professional helps identify the purpose and goals of your project. The specialist consults with you to assess where and how you can use assistance. A simple plan and timeline ensues. The budget comes into play, and the publication is on track.
Planning and assistance
Your publication gets the best results when it aims its content and writing style at the level most easily understood by its readers. Does your content involve important points to be made, directions to be followed, charts or graphs, and/or a call to action? Is it well organized and easy to read according to our most basic (adult and youth) standards for reading comprehension?
Attention to detail also sets the tone for reader/listener comprehension and retention. Pictures speak louder than words. But with or without pictures, visual detail in your narrative allows the reader to see what you mean or imagine what you’re suggesting.
Whether you’re producing one publication or many, you’ll want to maintain consistency in grammar and word usage including terminology. Sadler Publications bases its editing process on standard reference books for grammar, punctuation, and word usage: The Chicago Manual of Style for most publications and Associated Press (AP) style for news/newsletter publications.
Some companies have their own “house style” to incorporate as well. For those who would like to develop their own customized template for terminology and style, Sadler Publications is ready to assist.
Working one-on-one or with a team, Sadler Publications assists you in starting, continuing, revising, and bringing it all together. You’ll focus on:
• Developing your text from scratch and from initial drafts
• Enhancing your text with description and detail
• Editing your text for precision and clarity
• Evaluating your publications for consistency and style (branding)
